President Trump thought about dealing out quick justice to his Supreme Court pick after learning that he criticized him, according to a report.
The commander-in-chief became upset and talked about rescinding the nomination of Neil Gorsuch after he met with Connecticut Democrat Sen. Richard Blumenthal and told him that Trump’s attack on the judiciary were “disheartening” and “demoralizing,” the Washington Post reported Monday.
Trump had recently attacked judges on Twitter after his travel ban suffered from repeated injunctions on constitutional grounds, which came after he mocked another judge for his Mexican heritage last year.
He reportedly fretted over whether Gorsuch, lauded by the mainstream Republicans that have sometimes clashed with the White House, would be “loyal” and wondered if he were sufficiently grateful.

Some of his worries were eased when the judge, a member of the federal bench in Colorado before being tapped to the highest court in the land, sent him a letter in March praising his address to Congress, the Post reported.
The Trump administration on Monday denied ever having considered rescinding Gorsuch’s nomination.
He was confirmed by the Senate 54 to 45 in April and has a consistently conservative outlook similar to the justice he replaced, Antonin Scalia.
