The remains of a teenager who disappeared more than two years ago have been found in a drainage pipe in an Arkansas park.

The remains of a teenager who disappeared more than two years ago have been found in a drainage pipe in an Arkansas park, authorities said Wednesday.

The pipe at Chalamont Park in Little Rock opens near where police found Ebby Steppach's car days after she was reported missing in October of 2015.

The skeletal remains were found on Tuesday, and the Arkansas State Crime Lab concluded one day later that they belonged to Ebby, who was 18 when she vanished.

"Ebby Jane you are dancing in the Throne Room while we weep at your grave," her mother Laurie Jernigan wrote on Facebook. "I long for the day I will join you. Your life has brought purpose and meaning to so many and I'm proud to be your mom. If not for you I would never of met so many wonderful people, learned so much about faithfulness, love and our savior."

Investigators last searched the park in November of 2016, but were following up this week on "gut instinct," according to Steve Moore of the Little Rock Police Department.

"We've never given up on this," Officer Moore said.

Jernigan previously said Ebby wanted to live on her own and had moved in with her brother, who talked to her on the phone the day before she disappeared. Trevor told police she sounded panicked on the phone, and that she insisted she was in her car but couldn't say where she was.

Police, volunteers and officials from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children searched the park repeatedly after the teen went missing.

A celebration of Ebby's life will be held at Christ Community Church on the campus of Little Rock Christian Academy on Saturday at 2 p.m.
