An Indiana day-care center has been shut down after a toddler was severely beaten, bruised and left with a swollen lip.
The state's Family and Social Services ordered the Kiddie Garden in Indianapolis to close down on Tuesday after Tiffany Griffin said someone beat up her 1-year-old son, Jesse.
Griffin told WXIN -TV she was furious when she arrived at the day care on Monday, hours after dropping Jesse only to find him with cuts on his bloodied face and a swollen lip. The tot was hospitalized for his injuries.
Haben Ghebremichael, the day care owner, claims a 2-year-old girl assaulted Griffin's baby. But Griffin didn't buy that story.

"When I saw my son's face, I was like, 'If a 2-year-old did it, how could she have that much time to do that?'" Griffin told WRTV. "I would have heard my son screaming from outside."
Ghebremichael said the day care was cooperating with police and Child Protective Services. She told WXIN the worker in charge of watching little Jesse and other kids had been fired.
Police are investigating the incident, but no charges have yet been filed.

Meanwhile, Griffin said she's not sure if she can leave her baby in anyone's care.
"I couldn't protect him and I was trying to do what's best for my kids like going to the doctor, taking care of my health and going to school," she told WXIN.
