A Texas woman who lied to police that three black men raped her pleaded guilty to felony charges last week.
Breana Harmon was found guilty of tampering with evidence and documents Thursday after making up the March 8, 2017, story about her alleged abduction, according to KSAT-TV.
Harmon’s fiancé reported her missing that same day after finding her car abandoned when he returned to their Denison home.
She told police three men wearing ski masks kidnaped her and then raped her in a wooded area. Before that, she walked into a church wearing a shirt, bra and underwear claiming she was raped.
Days later, Harmon admitted to faking her abduction and rape after medics found no sign she had been sexually abused. The cuts on her legs, Harmon told police, were self-inflicted.
She also confessed she lied because her relationship with her fiancé was in jeopardy, according to the Herald Democrat.
Harmon’s scheduled to be sentenced March 20.
