A disgraced FDNY paramedic admitted Tuesday to a kiddie porn charge.
Aaron Aguirre, 34, pleaded guilty to the distribution of child pornography in Brooklyn Federal Court and was sent to jail.
Aguirre, who was indicted last year, had to agree to resign from his job as a condition of his plea, Assistant U.S. Attorney Penelope Brady told Judge William Kuntz.
Outside court, his lawyer, Oliver Storch, said Aguirre’s crimes had nothing to do with his many years “in the business of saving lives.”
Storch said his client “accepted responsibility for his actions” and looked forward to getting treatment behind bars.
Storch said Aguirre’s family was “saddened and shocked.”
Aguirre joined FDNY in May 2008, according to his Facebook page.
A sentencing date has not been set. Aguirre is facing a minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years.
