Horrifying Injury: James McCarthy Suffer Double Leg Break

Everton’s game against West Brom on Saturday was defaced by a horrifying injury to Republic of Ireland international James McCarthy.
The midfielder made a lung-blasting run to get back and keep Salomon Rondon from scoring a specific goal on the hour mark, only to break his leg in the procedure.
The 27-year-old suffered a double broken leg in the wake of clashing with Rondon by placing in a last-ditch challenge while the Venezuelan was attempting to about to shot.
McCarthy was treated on the pitch with by Everton’s medical team for a lengthy minute causing the Everton man to leave the pitch on a stretcher having been administered oxygen.
Such was the degree of the injury that Rondon was noticeably lessened to tears on the pitch.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the matchEverton boss Sam Allardyce affirmed after the match that McCarthy had broken both his tibia and fibula.
“It’s a tib and fib fracture, compounded as well, so it’s a nasty injury. A huge blow for him having had so many what we would say ‘niggly injuries’ which he had overcome,” said Allardyce.
“We’ve worked so hard to get James back to fitness and overcome his previous problems
“We felt we had all those covered now and he was getting fit, feeling more confident in himself and his game was beginning to come back.
“But bang, this has happened now and it’s a long period of time to recover from so it’s a great shame.
“Of course this happens in the game of football but not often an injury that severe,” Allardyce added.
