Police in Tennessee say a woman has been charged with transporting two young children in pet kennels inside her vehicle.

A Tennessee woman is being charged with with two counts of child endangerment after transporting a pair of kids in pet kennels stored in the back of her car.
According to a Memphis police affidavit, Leimome Cheeks claims there was no room inside her vehicle, so she told the children ages 7 and 8 to get inside the kennels.

There were no air conditioning vents in the back of the vehicle and the children told police they became very hot.
Temperatures in the area approached nearly 95 degrees while they were being transported.
Cheeks, 62, is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail as of Sunday night.
