A Bronx woman who fatally knifed her lover in the back and chest stood silently as a judge ordered her held without bail Sunday.
The fatigue was visible in 35-year-old Claudius Purifoy’s eyes as she was arraigned in Bronx criminal court on murder and other charges.
Purifoy is accused of stabbing the victim, 31, whose name has not yet been released, inside his second-floor apartment on W. 174th St. near Nelson Ave. in Morris Heights at about 6:20 a.m. Saturday.
Police said the victim and Purifoy were in a romantic relationship.
Purifoy served two years for a 2014 Bronx drug-dealing conviction, and was released in July 2016, court records show.
Prosecutors did not reveal the victim’s name during Sunday’s court proceeding, and Purifoy’s lawyer offered no details about her background.
The building’s porter, Ernest Hernandez, 40, told the Daily News on Saturday that Purifoy and the victim constantly argued.
“Guy named Anthony and his wife... a (transgender) who goes by Diamond got into a fight and she stabbed him. There was definitely drugs involved,” Hernandez said of the victim and the suspect.
“They fought every day, every single day. They recently got married and there was jealously because of how she got money... They use to live next door it's an SRO, but they got kicked out of there and was staying with a friend.”
Purifoy is slated to return to court Friday.
