The younger sister of mass shooter Dylann Roof was arrested Wednesday on drugs and weapons charges after she made an alarming social media post about National Walkout Day.
Morgan Roof, an 18-year-old student at A.C. Flora High School in Columbia, S.C., was found with marijuana, pepper spray, and a knife on school grounds after sharing a Snapchat post about how she wished students protesting gun violence on Wednesday would “get shot,” The State reported.
Her brother, Dylann, is a white supremacist sentenced to death for gunning down nine people at a historically black church in 2015.

Morgan Roof argued against National Walkout Day in a Snapchat post that read, “Your walking out for the allowed time of 17min, they are letting you do this, nothing is gonna change what tf you think it’s going to do?”
“I hope it’s a trap and ya’ll get shot we know it’s fixing to be nothing but black people walkin out anyway. No offense ofc buuut,” the post continued.
A staffer alerted the school’s resource officer about Roof, and she was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and charged with simple possession of marijuana and two counts of carrying a weapon on school grounds, according to the sheriff’s office.

Principal Susan Childs issued a statement on Wednesday saying the “hateful message” on social media “caused quite a disruption” at the school.
Childs tried to reassure the students and faculty and wrote, “I realize that rumors and the tragic school shootings in Florida are events that can cause anxiety for our students, parents, faculty, and the community. Be assured that the safety of our students will always be our top priority.”
Gov. Henry McMaster credited the school's speedy response on Wednesday, writing, "potential tragedy was avoided."
