An accidental shooting at an Alabama high school killed one student and injured two others Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
Two students were critically injured — and one died on the way to a hospital — after they were shot during dismissal at Huffman High School in Birmingham, Al.com reported.
A 17-year-old girl was killed in the shooting, the Associated Press reported.
A school employee was injured, treated and released at the scene. The other student is in critical but stable condition, according to the site.
Birmingham police believe the shooting was accidental. Cops recovered a gun, and no arrests have been made.
The Birmingham City School system said the school was briefly placed on lockdown.
