Essex woman charged with baby girl's murder




A woman has been charged with murdering a seven-month-old baby girl who died last year.
Shagun Chandra-Prasad had sustained multiple fractures when she was found at an address in Buckhurst Hill, Essex, in the early hours of 15 August.
She was taken to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Shalina Kukkundoor Padmanabha, 31, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court charged with murder and neglect of a child.
No plea was taken when Ms Padmanabha, of Epping New Road, Buckhurst Hill, appeared for a short hearing.
She was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday.
A man and a woman were arrested on 21 August last year in connection with the incident.
The man has since been released without charge.
