A teenage shooting victim managed to walk more than two blocks in the Bronx before collapsing from a fatal chest wound Tuesday, cop sources said.
The 18-year-old victim was standing on Sheridan Ave. near Marcy Place in Claremont, at 8:40 p.m., when a gunman walked up to him, shot him once and ran, sources said.
The teen staggered to the Walton Ave. at Elliot Place, where medics and cops found him. He died at Bronx Lebanon Hospital.
Several onlookers lit candles near the crime scene, and one friend, who didn’t give his name, said the victim attended high school.
Police are still looking for the shooter. (SAM COSTANZA/FOR NEW YORK DAILY NEWS)
“He was a good boy. He done everything good, he goes to school, has good grades and everything,” the friend said. “He has his problems, but so does everybody. To get hurt like this, it's not right.”
Police were still looking for the shooter Tuesday night.
