Truth rating: 10

Even as its gross drops, Coco is staying atop the box office throne. That is, at least, until the new Star Wars movie opens next week. Get the details, and check out the Top 10 estimates for all of this weekend’s movies below!
As Gossip Cop has reported, Coco opened two weeks ago as the latest critically-acclaimed film from Pixar. It easily topped the box office with its debut, and held on to first place last weekend as well. Now the animated movie is set to win its third weekend straight, despite ticket sales declining week to week. Coco is benefiting from a lack of major wide releases, which will change when Star Wars: The Last Jedi is released next Friday.
But for now, it’s still all about Coco, which will have a haul of around $19 million for its third frame. Justice League is currently tracking towards $9.4 million for second place, but it if slips even a little bit, it could lose out to Wonder. Right now, the book adaptation is projected to bring in $9.3 million to take third. In addition, the heartwarming movie should cross the cumulative $100 million mark after a month in theaters.
James Franco’s The Disaster Artist is riding its positive buzz to approximately $6.4 million, which would put it in fourth place. Ranking fifth will likely be Thor: Ragnarok with roughly $6.3 million, unless the two flicks flip-flop their positions. Regardless, the news for Marvel is good, as Thor should be hitting the $300 million milestone. And both Daddy’s Home 2 and Murder On The Orient Express are still chugging along, with expected receipts this weekend of $5.7 million and $5 million, respectively, for the sixth and seventh spots.
Possibly rounding out the Top 10 are The Star ($3.7 million), Lady Bird ($3.6 million) and Just Getting Started ($3.5 million). “Just getting started” is an apt way to put the holiday box office season, which will soon kick into high gear with Star Wars and upcoming Christmas Day releases.
