Celebrities are reacting to Australia voting “yes” to same-sex marriage. The news was announced on Wednesday morning Australia time. After a long drawn out process, 61 percent of voters were in favor of marriage equality, while 38 percent voted against it. Australia’s Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull told reporters following the announcement, “They voted ‘yes’ for fairness, they voted ‘yes’ for commitment, they voted ‘yes’ for love. And now it is up to us here in the Parliament of Australia to get on with it.” Turnbull said he was going to push for same-sex marriage becoming legal by Christmas. Quickly, the hashtags #MarriageEquality and #Australia became trending topics on Twitter.
