A Facebook user, Alhaji ‎Bukar has claimed that some ladies reportedly made an appeal to Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima.
Sharing photos of the spinsters based in a ward in Maiduguri, Borno state capital, Bukar revealed the ladies begged the governor to come to their aid because their singleness is taking a toll on them.
According to the Spinsters, they want to be helped like their counterparts in Kano state who are being sponsored by the state government for their weddings.
The mass wedding programme was first introduced in the state by the Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso administration when the incumbent governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was the deputy.
Through the programme, thousands of couples have been wedded by the Kano State government.
