PAUL WALKER'S DAUGHTER SETTLES WRONGFUL DEATH LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST PORSCHE

Paul Walker’s daughter, Meadow Walker, has settled her wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche after accusing the car company of contributing to her father’s death due to defects in its automobile. Details of the settlement haven’t been disclosed, but both parties reportedly agreed to dismiss the case.

As Gossip Cop reported, Walker’s 18-year-old daughter sued Porsche in September 2015, claiming her dad survived the high-speed crash that led to his death, but was burned alive after being trapped by a faulty seatbelt. Meadow further alleged the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT in which her father died had instability issues, inadequate fuels lines and poor door reinforcements, among other deficiencies.

Porsche disputed the wrongful death suit, maintaining that the car’s driver, Roger Rodas, was driving at an excessively high speed during the fatal 2013 accident. The sports car company further claimed the vehicle was “abused and altered” with modifications, as well as “misused and improperly maintained.” The manufacturer blamed the crash on Rodas, while holding Walker partially responsible.

Documents obtained by The Blast indicate that Walker’s daughter reached a confidential resolution with Porsche on October 16. The late actor’s father, Paul Walker Sr., also reportedly settled a separate lawsuit against the company. As Gossip Cop previously noted, Meadow was awarded a $10.1 million settlement from Rodas’ estate in April 2016.

Rodas’ widow, Kristine Rodas, lost her wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche in April 2016 after a judge ruled that the car company wasn’t responsible for her late husband’s death. She contended in her suit that the accident was caused by defects in the car, but the judge decided there was “no competent evidence” to hold Porsche liable for the crash. Shortly after the case was dismissed, Meadow’s attorney Jeff Milam told Gossip Cop the decision had “no effect on Meadow Walker’s lawsuit” and that “the issues in the cases are very different” because her father wasn’t driving the vehicle.
